In 1973, Terry Jones was a healthy young man, a Christian minister, husband, singer, and avid golfer. Within a few months, he would lose the function of his entire right arm, and doctors had no explanation or diagnosis.

Terry eventually discovered that he had ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or Lou Gehrig's Disease. ALS attacks the nerve cells in the central nervous system, causing muscles to weaken and atrophy.
