In The Name of Jesus!

| Josh Shields

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. —Matthew 17:20

Too many of us doubt ourselves, yet we applaud and celebrate others and their accomplishments, keeping things hidden deep down inside of us, believing no one wants to hear them. Have you ever stopped to think just how crazy it sounds for three or four everyday people to step in a rocket, blast into space, unbuckle, do a controlled weightless spacewalk, maneuver, buckle up, descend back down to Earth, and land exactly where they took off? Neither did I, but it happened. Someone thought it, believed it, went to work on it – and it happened.

More than once in Scripture, God sends us a message to believe first in Him and trust what He put in you. In Genesis 11, humanity decided to build a tower (which we focus on). God said because the people are one, and they have one language, nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined they might do.

The tower wasn’t the problem. The problem was they said, “and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth” (Genesis 11:4). Colossians 3:17 declares, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”

CEO, do you want your company to become innovative and successful? Pastor, do you want to reach the lost and see your church grow? Laborer, do you want that promotion? Salesman, do you really want the sale? Quit doubting what God put in you. He put it there because He believes you are capable of completing the task.

Our prayer for you this week: May you come to believe and trust what God put in you. Pursue it in the name of Jesus!
