He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he. — Proverbs 16:20
Opportunity: a chance, possibility, or circumstance that could change everything. Today, if you are like me, there are several different places in our lives that could use a blessing, approval, permission, or even a miracle. All we need is that one breakthrough, open door, meeting, consultation, convention, or conference that could change everything. The right set of eyes to see or ears to hear just might turn everything around.
Trust me when I say your opportunity, chance, possibility, or circumstance will come. The doors will open! It is all in how you handle the matter that makes the difference. You see, opportunities come in different ways. There are quick fixes that are temporary. Then there are also opportunities that come in the form of a journey.
The wise man said in the verse proceeding this, “Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.” Some opportunities come at the cost of destruction to others, and we justify our feelings by saying someone had to lose.
True happiness will never be earned, purchased, acquired, or obtained through dishonest, immoral, or demeaning actions or efforts. True happiness comes to those who wait on God to open the doors and know the difference when He doesn’t. Our happiness is not in what we gained. Happiness comes from the journey of how the opportunity, chance, possibility, approval, elevation, or promotion came about by the miraculous opening of doors that only God can give. True happiness comes to those whose trust is in the Lord.
