Revival is Coming!

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. —Isaiah 57:15
The other day I went to see one of our daughters. She lives in a quaint cabin at the end of a lane in the country. After our visit, walking back to get into my truck, something crunched under my feet—walnut hulls. The first thing I thought of was squirrels and all the food they had for the upcoming winter.
After driving off, I began to look around. Then it dawned on me what was really going on. All around me, foliage has begun to fall off of the trees. We are entering a dormant season. This time of brown grass and bare trees allows us to know that winter is just ahead.
While we see the dormancy that is coming on, that is not what the tree sees. You see: The reason that tree was dropping nuts, seed, or fruit is because it is preparing for the revival to come in four to five months. God put it in that tree—no matter what is happening around it—to know revival is coming.
Why did we give up so easily? When did we decide revival, life, regeneration, and renewal had stopped? It may look like everything around you is dying, but stay humble and keep pursuing a change, a turnaround. For He who is High and Holy said He would revive the spirit of the humble. No matter who tells you to give up, be like the walnut tree by the little cabin. Keep producing, because life will come again.
Our prayer for you this week: May you never allow anything or anyone to affect your future. Keep producing. Revival is coming.
