It’s amazing what tolerance does to one’s being. I’ve heard it said that a man of tolerance is a man with no conviction.
The Psalmist made it clear what happens to a man with no conviction. His bones suffered, the very structure of our being, our stature, and height. Luke said, “And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?” Notice the thing of importance the scripture said we cannot add to will be affected because of unforgiven transgressions. It is God that exalts. He sets men up and takes men down.
Sin unrepented of destroys a man. No matter how we clothe him, the structure begins to melt away. How many times have you and I saw someone, and we thought, “He/she is a shell of the man or woman they used to be.” Sin not only affects us, it infects those things around us. Not only our physical man suffers, but our homes, jobs, churches, and relationships begin to crumble.
Tolerance of sin/wrong doesn’t stop on the local level. It spills over to a whole nation and even the world. The decay of tolerance or a life of no conviction leads to destruction. The Psalmist said when we, our churches, businesses’, homes, and nation keep silent, our bone’s structure suffers. How do we turn the infrastructure around in our home, business, church, and nation? The answer is in 2 Corinthians 7:10. Conviction that brings Godly sorrow that needeth not be repented of.
Our prayer for you this week: May we take a moment and repent/turn from our tolerance, walk in Godly conviction, and live the blessed life.
