Cross over your Jordan today!
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Deuteronomy 31:6
Change can be challenging. Anytime you modify, alter, replace, or move something, there are adjustments to be made. From the changing of seasons to relocating, switching jobs, and new additions to our family, modifications must happen.
Isn’t it amazing how the unknown strikes fear in our heart? We face the unwalked, peer at the unclimbed, face down the unwhipped, look over the uncrossed, and allow hesitation to paralyze us into defeat, all because we have never crossed this Jordan. If we never cross over our Jordan, we will never reach our promise, own our own business, grow our church, build our family, nor experience the victory God has planned for us in our life.
You are not the first to face change nor step into the unknown. In Deuteronomy, Israel circles the same mountain for 38 years. Now, they face a new challenge. Not only are they crossing into new territory and facing new enemies, terrain, and challenges, they must do it with a new leader. It is here that Moses writes words of encouragement, not only to them, but for every generation, pastor, business owner, supervisor, saint, father, and mother to come.
“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
So today, cross your Jordan, build that new church, construct that new business, put together that new team, train the new bundle of joy God has given you. Step into the new position, move forward with your life, friends, and relationship with Jesus. Remember, it is God that walks with you.
Our prayer for you this week: May you come to realize God will not fail thee. Cross over your Jordan today.
