And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: Exodus 14:15
The flight has happened. The escape from bondage is in action, and just over the horizon there it is, the Red Sea, the gate, the waterway, a type of baptism on the journey from Egypt to the Promise Land. The inevitable seems like it has come upon them. Pharaoh is sure to overtake, devour, consume, and destroy them. They can’t turn around and going left or right would not gain them any ground. Moses declares one of the most quoted verses in scripture, “Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord.”
Why is it when we as humans are faced with an insurmountable task, we shut down, freeze, and come to a halt staring at the obstacle just knowing God is going to pull the plug and drain the water out of the sea so we can cross over to our destiny?
As life greets me, I am coming to the conclusion/understanding that if there is one thing the enemy loves, it is idleness. Idleness is the playground and workshop of the enemy for discouragement, fear, and disillusionment. Isn’t it amazing how quickly the Lord speaks when Moses says stand still? The Lord’s response says it all, “Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.”
Can I ask, what is stopping you? Remember with every precious moment you waste standing and looking, you are losing time and steps toward your destiny. Don’t let idleness be the gateway of interruption, disturbance, or uproar. Choose to go forward. Pursue your destiny. Don’t waver, stop, nor look left or right. Somewhere Israel forgot the promise that they were going to the Promise Land. Go forward, take advantage of the day, and move toward your promise.
