The world marched closer to the biblical end-times scenario in 2024. Revelation 13 prophesies the coming one-world government, economy and system of worship led by the unholy trinity – Satan, the Antichrist and the False Prophet.
From emerging technologies to spiritual deception to wars and rumors of wars, the world is primed for this unholy empire to appear after the church disappears in the rapture. Everyone needs to be aware of these 10 stories from 2024, which have biblically prophetic significance.
10. The Coming Digital Currencies
Digital currencies and Bitcoin projects like Worldcoin made headlines by expanding their operations in 2024. Worldcoin created quite a stir among global governments by offering free tokens for people who registered their eyes’ iris scan via Worldcoin’s Orb. People lined up by the thousands in some countries to scan their iris and receive their (ahem) free money.
During the Great Tribulation, the one-world economy will be marketed as the opportunity of a lifetime. Imagine doing business with anyone worldwide at any time with zero exchange rates or complicated transactions. However, this digital gold rush will fizzle out and the world will realize it has given control over its finances to the one-world “mark of the beast” system.
9. Rise of Biblical Illiteracy
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6a). Biblical knowledge continues to decline in the church. The poverty of biblical knowledge reflects the priorities in the pulpit. Sermons filled with psychological self-help are a poor substitute for a healthy diet of God’s Word.
Some Christians readily receive preaching and teaching that mishandles God’s Word, ripping it out of context to support a speculative theory. The Bible prophecy world can be particularly susceptible to this terrible practice.
Even some Christians who love Jesus and His Word got wrapped up in the April 2024 total solar eclipse event as a sign that the Great Tribulation was about to begin. Some people set dates based on what appeared in the sky. However, the biblical argument used to support their theories was flimsy, often taking verses out of context.
8. Rise in Antisemitism
Antisemitism grew across the world in 2024, including an attack on Jews in Amsterdam in November, very close to the anniversary of the 1938 Nazi pogrom known as Kristallnacht. Record-breaking levels of antisemitic incidents occurred in 2024, according to multiple sources.
Antisemitic incidents have increased by 700 percent on college campuses around the world since the attack on October 7, 2023, reports Hillel.org, a leading Jewish campus organization.
The proper interpretation of Bible prophecy recognizes that God has a future purpose for Israel, as revealed in important chapters like Romans 11.
7. Growing Spiritual Deception
In 2024, Pope Francis continued proclaiming his one-world religion message that all faiths are equally valid. His remarks will deceive many into buying into these lies. The pope’s message agrees with the postmodern mindset pervasive in the Western world. Many popular voices agree with the pope’s all-roads-lead-to-heaven approach, but popular opinion is not a test for truth.
6. Paganism Portrayed at Paris Olympics
This same postmodern spirit took center stage at the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics as Christianity was mocked and sinful lifestyles were celebrated. Truly, it was an act of worship to the god of this age – the self. The Bible predicted this shift in the object of worship, and we are watching it unfold. “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves” (2 Tim. 3:1-2a).
5. Moving Toward a CBDC
In 2024, the world progressed toward a central bank digital currency. Previously, the U.S. was the lone holdout in exploring a CBDC among the G20 nations. However, that changed in 2024 as the U.S. began CBDC exploration and experimentation through Project Agorá. The Federal Reserve is testing a cross-border CBDC with six other major central banks. Project Agorá is one of almost 20 similar cross-border tests happening around the world currently.
The world is rapidly moving toward central bank digital currency. Some countries motivate change by comparing themselves with others and warning their people that they do not want to get left behind in the coming digital economic boom.
The stage is being set for a global digital economy.
4. Using AI to Control Borders
Blossoming AI technologies are quickly transforming border control. In 2024, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security released a document detailing how it could use AI to assist in border protection. Facial recognition scans could be catalogued and used to detect someone attempting to enter the country illegally.
The European Union tried to launch a similar biometric border crossing system in November 2024 but delayed its launch due to ongoing logistical issues. This coming system will require non-EU citizens to register their biometric data, such as facial recognition scans, so that their entry and exit from the EU countries can be tracked more easily.
In various countries, law enforcement launched new uses of similar facial recognition capabilities to detect and deter crime.
The world is ripe for a digital database of every person and their biometric data. This could eventually be merged into global citizenship – a foundational component of a one-world government.
3. WEF Prophetic Convergence
During the World Economic Forum 2024, the push for a one-world government, economy and worship converged during a one-hour event. Its January forum featured a discussion on economics, climate and nature. The panel discussed the urgent need for a new economic model, based on globalist and Marxist principles. As the meeting concluded, a pagan priestess was invited on stage to perform a ritual asking Mother Earth for healing and world unity.
Seldom do we observe such a convergence within an hour. What will the WEF have in store as members discuss “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age” January 20-24, 2025?
2. The U.N.’s Quest for Control
The U.N. is pushing harder than ever toward its Agenda 2030, driven by Marxist principles. Their September 2024 “Summit of the Future” produced a document called the “Pact for the Future” which specifically spelled out the direction the U.N. wants to take this world.
It called for international cooperation on taxes, including an international effort to increase taxes on the world’s wealthiest individuals. The U.N. also seeks to transform global governance by placing itself in control of future global shocks – like wars and pandemics. Further, the U.N. wants to control free speech by controlling the Internet.
Notice the prophetic implications: the United Nations calls for a united world government with global taxation, governance, response to shocks and the ability to control information. Those who know Bible prophecy can see the parallels with the coming satanic kingdom during the Great Tribulation.

As the war in Israel escalated during 2024, the alignment of nations according to various Bible prophecies further sets the stage for the biblical end-times scenario. The takeover in Syria, Turkey’s rise to prominence, Iran’s attacks upon Israel and Saudi Arabia’s peace negotiations with Israel are harbingers of the coming fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
As 2025 begins, remember that God is still on the throne and prayer changes things. Powerful people think they control world events. They manipulate the system to fulfill their will. However, Scripture shouts loud and clear that God’s plan for the ages will never be thwarted. Live triumphantly following the King of kings, Christ Jesus!
