He Will Fulfill!
Matthew 6:25
“Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?”
Jesus, teaching His disciples in what is commonly called the Sermon on the Mount, has just finished addressing things like, “Ye are the salt of the earth.” Temptation, divorce, oaths, forgiveness, loving one’s enemies, giving, fasting, treasures in heaven, and all the sudden He drops the bomb, WORRY. He says, “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?”
The definition of worry is: to give way to anxiety or unease; allow one’s mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.
Why is it we do exactly what Jesus said not to do? If we are not worrying, then we are worried because we are not worrying. Do you realize that worry is the opposite of faith? It is the very breeding ground for unbelief.
How many of us got up this morning thinking we are going to add more day to our life? Have you not realized your life is in His hands and not yours? The number of your days He will fulfill. Don’t take me wrong. I’m not saying we can’t make choices that give us a better quality of life.
What I am saying is if we are not careful, we can allow our day to be controlled by negative notions that hinder us from walking in victory. Did the Scripture not say in Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV): “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Our prayer for you this week: May you never allow the sin of worry to take over your life
