Joe Biden Forgets the “Creator” In the Declaration of Independence; Calls God the “Thing”
The Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
While that may not be one of the best known and most important sentences in history, it totally escaped Joe Biden at a campaign stop, where he couldn’t remember that all people derive their rights from God, calling the Lord a “thing.” Here’s what Mr. Biden said: “We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created … by the … er … you know … you know– the thing.” So, we have been created by “the thing.”
Biden may not know the Declaration because he doesn’t truly believe that all people are created equal, at least not unborn children. They are deleted at the whim of someone else. Biden is totally out of step on abortion with most Americans with his unflinching support for abortions up to birth.
During a Democratic presidential debate, Biden had a one-liner that he hoped would solidify his standing with abortion advocates. When it comes to abortion and appointing federal judges who have the power to determine the direction of abortion legislation, Biden made it clear he would not compromise as president. “It’s a woman’s right to do that. Period. And you call that a litmus test, it’s a litmus test.”
Referring to the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits forcing Americans to pay for abortions, Biden said “It can’t stay.” Biden is committed to abolishing the Hyde Amendment.
Joe Biden, and the other Democrats, remind me of the fact that politics is a major moral issue. Supposedly, pastors are not supposed to preach on politics, but isn’t forcing people to pay for something that is immoral, isn’t that a moral issue?
God gave humankind dominion. One of the things that means is that we should control the culture for the glory of God and the good of humanity. Unfortunately the culture is now controlling the country. And, unfortunately, there are many Christians who are controlled by the culture—a God-hating, Christ-hating culture. Can you imagine what would happen if Christians started taking the Bible seriously and started standing strong for moral issues? But we have so compartmentalized our Christianity that it is a disgrace. So now we have a person who is running for president who wants to abolish the Hyde Amendment and sees nothing wrong with manhandling our consciences and wants us to pay for unrestricted abortions. There is something horribly un-American about this picture.
