Pastor’s Letter – February 2025

Dear Beloved Friends of Our Ministry,
In this day of social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, text messaging and Facebook Messenger, we are always heart-ing things. You know – ♥-ing things!
It’s easy to pop a heart on someone’s post or message and scroll on. We don’t really mean we love it or love them, although perhaps we do. Do they love us? Would they come immediately if we called them for help? More importantly, would we be there for them if they called?
When we think about love, if we do, we all have a mental list, perhaps unspoken, of people and things we simply love.
We love our pets, whether furry, small, equine, bovine or miniature in size, whether they cuddle with us or just acknowledge us when we feed them. We love our families, our friends and sometimes our neighbors, hopefully our church and church family, our hobbies and pastimes, hometowns and vacation spots, favorite foods and don’t forget our sports teams – especially our sports teams.
Funny thing is: As much as we love so many of these things, as much as we ♥ on social media, we very seldom (perhaps never) feel truly loved. Most of us battle insecurity, fears and possibly low self-esteem, feeling unworthy of being loved. Beloved, that is the evil one and his lies working to discourage you.
Look to God’s Word and you will find that not only are you unconditionally loved by the One who made you, but you are truly loved with an everlasting love. God told Jeremiah (the weeping prophet who felt the same feelings we often do of despair and doubt):
“Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee” (Jer. 31:3).
That love does not end tomorrow if you mess up, if you stray from the fold for months or years, if you forget to tithe, if you lose your temper with Him and lash out or if you just aren’t sure how you feel some days. God’s love is eternal. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He loves us even when we don’t feel loving toward Him.
We thank you, dear supporters, for all the love and faithfulness you have shown Southwest Radio Ministries – whether praying, listening, gleaning from our resources or giving – or all of these divine gifts. Thank you for sharing God’s love with us and helping us encourage others to love and know His love, all around world!
In His love and with much gratitude,
Kenneth C. Hill, President/Pastor
